Trace missing ratings to the output layer, then write results to the right rows without erasing existing values when new data is absent.
Follow the data across the boundary
Indeed ratings were present after collection but blank in the workbook. The failure was in output mapping. Restoring source-specific values to a shared schema fixed the loss without inventing metrics that the source did not provide.
Make the write-back resilient
Under my direction, the update path resolved Smartsheet columns by title, targeted retained row IDs and skipped missing values so existing values were not blanked. Analysts could inspect the spreadsheet result, confirm write-back and retain a Source Date stamp. My acceptance of the ratings fix is preserved in the development conversation.
Connect collection to the dashboard
Smartsheet acted as an interim database while the longer-term database choice was being resolved. API-connected updates supported the on-premises dashboard and an expanding set of employers.
Make later changes explicit before writing
A later agent-assisted ESA pipeline prototype introduced review gates, dry runs and insert/update/unchanged plans against separate tracker copies. Those controls are documented in source and tests; they do not establish a production rollout. An older optional replacement operation deleted and rebuilt selected rating rows, so preservation claims apply to the specific controlled update path.
Scope & evidence
The archive preserves the diagnosis, code fragments, a mapping harness and the owner’s confirmation that the ratings fix worked. It is not a fresh execution of the historical production pipeline.
